Artisan Spindles

Discover the Kravelli Artisan Spindles collection — our most technically demanding and distinctive support spindle designs. These spindles feature complex forms and detailed woodturning that require a high level of skill and precision from the maker. During production, only around half of the pieces we attempt meet the standard we want; some fail or break during turning because of the difficulty of the shapes.

Not every woodturner can produce these forms consistently, and they are equally distinctive in use. Their unusual geometry gives them a very different character from our classic support spindles and makes them best suited to experienced supported spinners who are already comfortable controlling a spindle and want something more specialized.

Made in Georgia by skilled makers from carefully selected natural woods, every Artisan Spindle is produced in small numbers and has its own individual grain, proportions and character. These are not intended to be our easiest or most universal spindles — they are made for seasoned spinners who appreciate demanding forms, unusual tools and the craftsmanship behind creating them.
