Balanced, strong, and beautifully crafted, this artisan support spindle set features a durable walnut wood shaft paired with a smooth pear wood whorl, complemented by a pear and beech lap support bowl designed for comfortable supported spinning.
At 31 grams, this spindle provides strong momentum and long spin times, making it ideal for medium to heavier yarns, wool, alpaca blends, textured fibers, and comfortable plying. The 24 cm (9.4″) length provides excellent control while maintaining stable and smooth rotation.
Walnut wood offers durability and stability, while pear wood contributes a refined texture and balanced density that improves spinning performance. The lap support bowl provides a wider spinning surface compared to standard bowls, allowing longer uninterrupted spinning sessions when used on the lap or table.
The combination of pear and beech wood in the bowl creates a sturdy and visually appealing spinning base with natural wood contrast.
Each piece is handmade in the Kravelli workshop in Georgia and finished with natural oils and beeswax to protect the wood and enhance its natural grain.
